Eternal Life

This is the season that we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.Of course the world has chosen to disregard that event and change the celebration to eternal and abundant life. Their symbols is not an open and empty grave, but rather flowers that suddenly appear out of nowhere and bunny rabbits who are known for their multiplicity of life. This article will concentrate on the real and important base of the season.

Jesus came to a world of lifeless people. They were dead in their trespasses and sins. Eph.2:1 The life of God was not in them and had not been in them since Adam and Eve lost it. Obviously the reader knows that there is a difference in physical life and spiritual life. They are both equally real but they are distinct. Did you also know that the word "death" in the Bible has the connotation of separation rather than cessation. Simply spoken, this means that when someone dies, their soul does not cease but separates from a body that no longer sustains. God's Word, (the only reliable information!) states that there is only one of two places that soul can go upon physical separation. Those two places are either Heaven or Hell. Souls that wind up in Hell do so because they are void of the Eternal Life of God.

Man's urge is to regain that Eternal Life and he resorts to everything imaginable to obtain it. Jesus came that we might partake of Eternal Life freely. It is the gift of God, not of works. Eph.2:8-10 He is the only person in history that has proven that He has it. All other proponents of Eternal Life lie as corpses in tombs and graves. The grave of Jesus is empty! Who are you going to believe?

Since Jesus has unquestionably risen from the grave; isn't it reasonable that we should seek that life that He spoke of? Shouldn't we make absolutely sure that we have that Eternal Life that he offers? The Bible says, "He that hath the son, hath life and he that hath not the son, hath not life." 1 John 5:12 Notice that this verse and there are many others that state that just believing in Jesus is not enough. Is your belief in Jesus any different than the devil's who spent 40 days alone with Jesus? The devil isn't going to Heaven!

Eternal Life is in Jesus. Actually, He is Eternal Life. He doesn't just give life, He brings it. Since he has risen from the tomb, He is ready to regenerate Etermal Life into anyone who will allow Him to do that. He says, "behold I stand at the door and knock. If any man hear my voice and open the door I will come in....."
Will you open the Door? Ask Jesus to come in now!
