The media and the "in" crowd are gushing over the so called civil union of Elton John and his partner David Furnish. Whatever the facts are in this case this action is a major step in our society's downward spiral toward the ultimate judgement of God. Since it seems that none of the media and the "in" crowd read their Bible, I have taken the liberty to quote part of Romans 1 in this space:
24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
The part that I have just quoted is not taken out of its context. It is not my private interpretation. It says what it was intended
to say. The last verse of this chapter gives warning to a world that takes pleasure in the above actions. So, folks, I really believe we are in trouble with God.. I personally thank God that I have heard and have believed God's Word about repentence and salvation, but I live in a world that has crossed the line of Romans 1 and find myself surrounded by a reprobate world. It is moving headlong toward the destruction and ultimate Lake of Fire that God has promised.
The pressures of my society and the passing of laws in favor of debauchery are making my world precarious. The threats of legal action and possible infection from GRIDS are a direct result of my world's acceptance of the actions of Elton and his ilk.
So, even though I know my sin has been forgiven and I have been delivered from the power of sin, I still have to put up with a world that will not get any better, barring a overwhelming repentance from this wickedness.
I still have to preach the Word that is negative to my world. I still have to be true to my Lord and Saviour, Jesus!
