Precious Scripture

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;  Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 2 Timothy 3:16-4:2

Born again believers who are walking close to the Lord in their life love the Bible as their most treasured possession. They have one that they call their own.  They know how to find their place in their Bible.  They know how to find what they are looking for in the Bible.  They do have a favorite verse in the Bible, but readily admit that there are tons of favorite verses in their Book. They can find a verse that will fit just about any occasion and it normally will be doctrinally sound and scripturally apropos. They can find a passage or chapter that will deal directly with any situation past, present or future.
One of the strongest aspects of our faith is the assurance that we have the actual Word of God in our hands. We are not left to assumption, we are not destitute of truth. We do not struggle with the meanings of God's Word. Confidence rules in our hearts because we know that God's Word will not change nor become outdated.  Though many people have a difficult time deciphering truth from various texts, a Bible believer rests in absolute and unreserved faith in his Book.
While the world crumbles in confusion for the lack of truth and God's authority, the Bible believer is instant in season and out of season with an unwavering faith in a soon coming Lord. Doctrine is not difficult to define when we have the absolute Word of God. Christian behaviour is clearly defined in the Word of God. Jesus is not only the Son of God, but also God in the flesh.  Salvation is eternal and a once for all transaction of God on a repentant heart. Hell is a real place, Heaven is a real place and the inhabitants of each are clearly defined in God's Word.
Friend, do you truly love your Bible. Or is it just a part of your religious paraphernalia? Do you read and study it as your source of life? Do you see that the world and Satan himself are doing everything they can to destroy or nullify God's Word. They know that if they can damage the Word of God, they will have won a major victory in their war against God. Men and women have given their lives in past centuries in order for us to carry the Book. It would be a horrible shame for our generation to be put asleep to the point that we cannot see that the Bible is still under attack.  Think of this! In the past the worst enemies of the Word of God were religious. They were determined to take away the deity of Jesus Christ.  They were determined to monopolize Heaven and its access. They wanted to regulate Christianity for their own benefit. They fought against the Bible believers. They fought against the believers that knew and preached salvation by grace and grace alone. They persecuted and put to death anyone who would not bow to their demands and denial of truth. They were a majority, because they had the world in their hands.
